Description

I have printed quite a few different refill spools and while they all work, I wanted to make one a little unique. I am a car guy, so naturally wheels came to mind right off the bat. This design is inspired by a split 9 spoke wheel. I also designed snap in labels that fit the center of the spoke. They are the second print profile. The third is the 7 spoke variant of the spool.

This spool is more rigid and sturdy than a couple of other honeycomb style spools I have printed, while using a little less filament and saving over an hour of print time. It is extremely sturdy and prints great, and functions great.

It weighs in at 160g and takes a little over 4 hours for both plates. If you love cars, you will hopefully appreciate this one. The 7 spoke version saves about 8 grams of filament and 12 minutes of print time. Thanks for looking.

I really enjoy making these models to share with everyone. If you enjoy or find my models useful, please remember to hit the boost button. It only takes a second and helps cover filament for testing and prototyping.
