Description
Replaces the 151R battery in your Honda Beat with the larger, easier to source 51R battery. This is an upgrade commonly performed by Honda Fit owners, and is now available to your Honda Beat!
The width of the original 151R bracket is insufficient to secure a 51R battery. Existing battery brackets only secures it from lateral movement, and could still rock back and forth from acceleration/braking. I designed this bracked with this in mind, with two arms extends forwards and backwards to minimize movement.
Note: Due to the varying designs of aftermarket 51R batteries, no provisions for the OEM battery vent tube/cover was designed. Consult your own battery's instructions for proper venting.
Materials:
- 51R Battery (with JIS terminals or a SAE to JIS adaptor/cable)
- 10" threaded battery mounting rods, cutting them to 9" would make installation easier
- Washers and fasteners
- Filament that could stand up against the heat (ASA, PC, etc.), roughly 150-200g, print with >5 walls
Installation:
- Remove the original mounting bracket and unhook the threaded rods
- Remove the original battery and plastic battery tray
- Bend the hook tabs outwards to accomodate the wider 51R battery
- Hook the new threaded rod in on the right
- Drop the 51R battery in
- Wiggle the bracket in and hook the threaded rod in on the left
- Install the washers and fasteners
