Description

This is just a simple spinning base for a 3d scanning turntable.

The plate that attaches to it is a circular piece of 4mm plywood with a thin sheet of metal glued on top - then painted black.

I also uploaded various sizes of magnetic scanning marker towers that can easily be attached to it in a separate upload (look at my profile/uploads if you are interested - (they can be seen in the pictures)

I've been using this turntable for a while now and have always been happy with how it works.

My Turntable is 40cm in diameter. Of course you can make a different size plate!

I would not recommend to make it much bigger, because it could tilt very easy then.

The spinning base is designed to be very sturdy, because i sometimes scan stuff that is quite heavy.

I've put a few holes for countersunk screws in the model, so it can be attached with screws if you use a little thicker piece of wood for the plate.

The version i am using is attached with double sided tape, which holds it in place perfectly.

The mounting holes are only there to give you an alternative way of attaching it to the plate!

This uses only a few hardware parts:

  • 3x “608” bearing: 22mm outer diameter, 8mm inner diameter, 7mm thickness
  • 3x M8 Screw (cylindrical or button head screw) minimum 25mm length (you can use much longer screws too)
  • 3x M8 Nut
  • Countersunk Woodscrew or double sided adhesive tape

Have fun printing! M.I.M

the turntable works great. As a tip, if you want to rebuild the whole thing and don't want to build an extra plate yourself, you can also simply buy the IKEA gladom table and use the plate from it. The table only costs €10

Gonna try this one, love that it uses a 608 not some obscure bearing.
