UPDATE March 5, 2026: Added a Ukulele mount.

When I developed this wall mount I kept several important factors in mind. The wall mount must not damage the finish of my instruments. It must be strong, and it must hold the instrument securely to prevent it from falling. I tested this model printed with PLA and TPU up to 50 lbs. The strength of this surprised me.  When the instrument is placed into the wall mount, the “arms” that are shaped like guitars, turn inward and block the guitar or ukulele from falling out.

If you add optional 5mm x 3mm (2.6) magnets to the print, the moving parts give a satisfying click when they move back into place after the guitar is removed from the mount.

The design is very simple and can be printed in whatever material you like, but I highly recommend TPU for the “arms” that actually touch your guitar when in the mount. PLA is great for the part that mounts to the wall.  This ensures that over time the finish is not damaged by the hard plastic. If you just want to test the design, print it all in PLA and see how you like it.

To put this model together you will need two M4 x 30 screws. You may get away with a M4 x 25 if you have them. The holder is mounted on the wall with wood screws that slot into the back of the holder. I included a screw template for positioning the mount onto the wall.

just printing 3 of these, do they take 1 bolt each side, and is the lower hole for a magnet so they snap back into place

Yes they take one screw each on both sides so that they can rotate into position when placing the instrument into position. Don't tighten the screws too tight. A total of four magnets can be used to "snap" the arms back in position when the instrument is removed from the holder. The magnets are optional.

Replying to @Bertowen :
The bottom holes are for the magnets and they need two on both sides. To keep the polarity correct I put two magnets together and press the magnets in place by squeezing the two part together.

I wish this would have turned out, such a great idea. there wasn't any support under the neck area.

Thank you so much for pointing this out. I corrected the problem and added the support that is required to print this properly. Sorry you wasted your time and material printing it.

when I’m home this next weekend, I’ll measure my 6 string and 7 string electric guitars to send you accurate measurements. An electric one will be awesome too. I’m going to print these for my acoustics later today. they look amazing!

Cool. it would be good to have the measurements with drawings of where you measured them.

Do you have files that will fit electric guitars? Because it will not fit the electric guitars. It sits on the tuning pegs, and it will bend them

I don't have an electric guitar to measure it in order to make a design. If you send me a photo of your guitar neck with accurate measurements I may be able to make it for you. measure the neck width, the width of the spots you want the arms to rest on. I will have to offset the arms so that they are at different heights for some electric guitars. It gets complicated to fit all instruments.
