==========April 14 Update Notes==========

  • Addressing difficulties some users experienced removing supports from the large gear, I've separated the large gear and bearing core. This eliminates the need for supports when printing the large gear, significantly reducing print time.

==========March 30 Evening Update Notes==========

  • Added a fully enclosed hinge replacement for users with spools under 180mm.
  • This accessory is a fully enclosed hinge without cutouts. For aesthetic reasons, the hinge is housed within the box, requiring 2 centimeters of clearance. Therefore, standard 200mm spools won't fit, but it's perfectly suited for 180mm spools, which I used myself originally. I created it for my needs, but clearly others share this requirement—a testament to kindred spirits!

==========March 30 Morning Update Notes==========

  • Added an upper filament outlet replacement. Download the second print configuration and replace the corresponding part.

==========Initial Release Notes==========

  • Since starting 3D printing, I've sought a versatile, perfect spool box, to no avail.
  • During my search, I encountered many brilliant ideas and designs from fellow creators. This sparked an idea: why not combine these excellent works and create an exceptionally aesthetically pleasing box?
  • Thus, this spool box came to be.

【Disclaimer】This design incorporates elements inspired by the following creators:

· The box's automatic filament retraction feature is inspired by designer  code72's rotating axis for a 4L rice bucket

· The box's manual filament retraction feature is inspired by designer TMA's manual filament retraction bracket

【Design Notes】:

  1. The box uses a Bambu gray color scheme, specifically the official PLA colors 10104 light gray + 10105 dark gray.
  2. The box frame is thoughtfully segmented. This ensures successful printing for A1 mini users while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the color scheme.
  3. The box utilizes a single-piece, large hinge for printing, offering smooth damping and high structural integrity. Ensure the hinged section is kept vertical during printing to minimize layer lines that could affect smoothness and enhance aesthetics.
  4. Required accessories are as follows:

    ①. Sixteen 8-10mm M4 screws;

    ②. Two 608 bearings, three 106 bearings (printed bearings can be substituted);

    ③. One 34*41*0.5 wave spring washer;

    ④. One 0.8mm diameter, 9mm outer diameter, 5-coil, right-hand spring;

    ⑤. One PC4-M6 through pneumatic fitting;

    ⑥. One 50mm × 100mm, 1.5mm thick acrylic sheet.

  5. While I've integrated the works of the two designers mentioned above, optimizing some dimensions, merging and refining certain parts, the overall assembly process remains largely unchanged. Refer to the links provided above for assembly instructions.
  6. Below are functional demonstrations:

    🔺Above shows the hinge and latch mechanism.

    🔺Above shows the automatic filament retraction via the rotating axis.

         🔺Above shows the manual filament retraction.

【Concluding Remarks】

  • This is a single spool box. I plan to design a multi-spool drying box later, potentially integrating RFID functionality. I hope you enjoy it.
  • To use multiple boxes together, they can be interconnected. Simply print the left and right side panels back-to-back in your slicer; they'll become connectors for two spools.

Rarely have I seen such poorly designed junk that is impossible to print properly

It seems you lack understanding of printers and design, otherwise you would have realized it better End of communication you are simply not worth it
