Description

I purchased an IKEA Malm bed with the default (cheapest) slats earlier this year, and while for the first couple of days it was great, I quickly encountered the issue that so many on online forums seem to have - the slats (which are inherently too short) can bend enough to slip out and fall. I decided to tolerate this for a while, but after a couple of months of picking up the mattress and putting the slats back on every single night that had fell, I finally decided to make this protective end cap that extends the slat by that critical inch or so to prevent side-to-side movement, or the slats falling. Since using these on the culprit slats, I have had no such issue and it seems to have fully cured the issue.

I recommend printing in PETG, or ABS as I did for additional strength, although I can't really see any issues with printing this in PLA.
