Description:
Author Hans Christian Andersen, known as H.C. in Denmark, has been immortalized next to Copenhagen’s City Hall. Already in 1936 there was a proposal for a statue of Hans Christian Andersen on the City Hall square. In 1937 Utzon-Frank won a competition for a memorial for the poet. However, the statue was not finished by the artist’s death in 1955, and it was Luckow-Nielsen who has taken over.
