Description

This is a custom model of the Hylian Shield from the Legend of Zelda series. Based on the version from Twilight Princess. (There are subtle differences in its appearance and design between TP, Oot, and SS/BotW/TotK). I've broken it up into a modular print so that it can be done with single colour FDM printers. Filaments used, PLA Basic, Red, Yellow, Silver, Blue, and Black. Most pieces should snap fit, but there may be a few that need to be glued to stay in place.
**NOTE: the geometry of the bird wings is a bit too thin to resolve properly with PETG filament. For best results stick with PLA, at least for the bird emblem parts.

I have tried multiple times to print the wings but, for some reason, they come up with holes (1st picture), I did multiple tests, dried my filament for a long time, and it did reduced the holes but they still are noticable, with the many tests I made, I noticed that if I cut the pieces, separate them a little, but still print them on the same plate, they came up way better, (2nd picture) any idea on what am I doing wrong? I am using Elegoo PETG

Afraid I can't really offer any suggestions... The part might be too thin for PETG? I'm not sure. I've only ever worked with PLA filament so far. I'm still relatively new to 3D printing.

same, been printing for about 2 months now, no worries, I understand, did not though about it being a PETG problem though, you might be onto something, I will try with PLA, I don't have red but that's ok, I'll test it when I have the time, thank you!

I think it was made for pla, with petg I had a lot of problems printing, the red parts had pieces that I printed 5 times to get "more or less"

Yeah, I might update the description to specify. I did not test this with PETG. Another user had the same issues as you with the wings. They must be a little too thin to print properly, but PLA should work just fine.

it could be, it's really on the wings, the support is very firm, and when removing them they break

temperatures are set waaaaaayyyy too high by default and it won't let me change it.

I'm not sure what you mean... if you download the .3mf file and open it in bambu studio on a PC you should be able to adjust whatever settings you need to. Customize supports, etc. Using only the phone app limits your options considerably.

so this happens with the wings and every time I change the temperature settings before or during the print, it automatically changes it back. PLA is supposed to print at 200 but these pieces force it to 220 and that just cooks the pieces.

Dude... are you trolling me or what? That image is a direct screenshot from LinkDave. In his post above he had some problems with using PETG for the wings, which I'm aware of, but PLA should work just fine. Nobody else has mentioned any issues with the printing temperature.

Awesome print! Be gentle on support removal. Also, ran into a small issue with smaller front from app. Once I printed from desktop app, much better print of smaller letters.

This model looks great! Easy to piece together and the results turned out pretty good. I did change up some supports on the smaller pieces from the print profile which only caused some minor blemishes on the underside edges.

These supports are really difficult to get to come off
