Cochlear Nucleus N7 Hearing Device Helmet Mount

My son just turned five and has bilateral cochlear implants. As he prepares for his first season of T-ball, we needed a way to ensure he could fully participate—especially while batting—while keeping his implants secure so we could communicate with him.

I designed this mount to easily attach to his batting helmet using a double-sided sticky gel dot (available at Walmart for about $3). Depending on fitment, you’ll need to drill a hole in the helmet approximately where your child’s implant attaches to their head. This placement will vary for each child based on head shape and implant location.

The design is very secure—after running, swinging, and playing, it stayed in place without any issues. I’m sharing this in hopes that other families with children who have cochlear implants can use it to help their kids enjoy sports activities without limitations.
