Description
MotoGP World Champions Trophy
This meticulously crafted trophy is built to scale and stands taller than the P1S with AMS, making it an impressive and highly detailed project. Consisting of 77 individual pieces, it’s a rewarding build for any MotoGP fan or 3D printing enthusiast.
Each tile is embossed with the name, year, and bike of every MotoGP World Champion, starting from Leslie Graham on an AJS in 1949 to Jorge Martin on a Ducati in 2024. The tiles are arranged in a striking spiral around the base. For assembly, I recommend using impact or contact adhesive, as it allows for precise adjustments before setting.
The tiles feature a chequered flag pattern, symbolizing the spirit of racing, and are best printed in two contrasting shades of silver or grey. Alternatively, a classic black-and-white color scheme works perfectly.
The base of the trophy proudly displays the MotoGP logo along with the “FIM MotoGP World Champions” inscription on the front. The set includes 76 champion tiles covering 1949 to 2024, and I will release the 2025 tile as soon as the next champion is crowned to complete the collection.
Designed to integrate seamlessly with the Bambu Light Kit 001, this trophy also doubles as a unique and eye-catching desk lamp.
The model is optimized for support-free printing and is spread across five plates, with a total print time of approximately 2 days and 20 hours. In my print settings, I use a brim for the tiles, printed with no infill and 3 perimeter walls. The base is printed using AMS, with 3 walls and 5% gyroid infill.
For materials, I used Ziro PLA Silk in silver grey and silver black for the tiles, while the base was printed with Bambu PLA Basic in black, red, and white.
