Description

This is a Split Flap Display Counter. It counts up to 999 and resets back to 0 afterwards. It only has one knob in order to turn all display segments. The mechanism inside makes it rotate the next row after no. 9.
Please assemble the counter as described in the video assembly guide for it to function as shown.

Very nice model. Works perfectly. Only aligning the three rows of numbers was quite a challenge. I felt like a watchmaker :-) Thanks

Can the knob rotate in both directions to increase and decrease the numbers? Is there a way to reset back to zero without having to turn the knob 999 times?

I am wondering the same

No, due to the way that split flap displays work, it is physically impossible for it to go backwards.

printed out two of these for my wife and she loves them. I found the assembly video to be OK, but not excellent. It was sufficient enough to pretty much get the job done. Thanks for taking the time to design and share!

Printed very nice and without any trouble. Assembly is a bit tricky but that is more my fault than a mistake by design. I added some drops of the Bambu Lab lubrication oil as i had id lying around - which worked like a charm and smoothed the mechanism even more. 10/10 would print again!

Printed simply lovely. Made my own print profile, since the existing one did not include the A1 mini, though all the parts easily fit onto the A1 mini´s print plate. Had some troubles with the small sticks fitting into the slots in the gearwheels. But after some measuring and adjusting for 0,2mm it worked lovely. This problem could be down to my printers precision, so: 5 stars.

Excellent work! The mechanism is extremely smooth and works flawlessly. I only found two very small suggestions that might be worth looking into. The first being that the screws are quite a bit longer than necessary, and 6 or 8mm screws work just as effectively. This might be a good option for smaller screw sizes if longer ones are not available. M3 screws were also tested to function with no problems, it was well designed :-) The only other suggestion I would make would be to include a reset functionality, which could be very easily be implemented with a central shaft and pegs initiated via either pulling or pushing on the main knob. It does get very tedious having to cycle through all 999 values just to reset the counter :-) In any case, what a fantastic design, and I look forward to all of your future builds!

Hi, It does not use the music box part. It was not meant for the music box challenge. Sorry for the confusion. I have removed it from the challenge :)
