Description

Tippe Top a standing up Spinning Top

Fascinating spinning top which stands up while rotating.

Patented as a "Wendekreisel" in Germany in 1892, it was reinvented by a Danish engineer in 1952. There are now a whole series of scientific papers on the question of why the top turns itself onto its handle when it spins and how you can find a suitable physical model for the calculation. The consideration of friction is particularly important. The friction of the top is what produces the forces that make the top stand up.

In my design i hide the cutout from some original Tippe-top designs and managed through internal cuts, infill and layer changes a good mass balance.

The Shaft is a press-fit part. Push it deep as you can! Also the shaft act while printing as flush object. No Cleaning Tower needed…Reduce waste.

I hope you like! Happy Printing 👍
