Description
Midareba Hamon Aikuchi Tanto (Wavy-Tempered Short Sword with Aikuchi Mounting)
Description:
This is a 3D-printed Aikuchi Koshirae (guardless mounting) tanto (dagger) with a 20cm blade. The design faithfully replicates traditional Japanese sword elements:
- Hira-fuchi/Hira-kashira: collars at the handle’s tip for minimalist aesthetics.
- Ko-zori: Subtle curvature optimized for thrusting and close-quarters combat.
- Midareba Hamon: A wavy, flame-like temper line along the blade, mimicking traditional clay-tempered steel.
Printing Notes:
- Blade Orientation: The blade must be printed vertically to preserve the hamon’s wavy texture.
- A1 Mini Limitation: The vertical blade exceeds the A1 Mini’s build volume. Use a larger printer.
- Supports: Minimal internal supports (non-visible post-processing).

Assembly Guide:
- Adhesive Required: Bond parts using CA glue or epoxy.
- Alignment: All components feature snap-fit guides to prevent misalignment.
Critical Marker: Align the red triangular marks on parts—the triangle always points toward the blade’s edge (see diagram).
