AMS Lite Filament Hub Brace

I recently purchased a A1 Mini and was immediately concerned the AMS Lite Filament Hub could easily break off. So, I fired up Solidworks and made this precision-fit brace. It significantly provides more support and weighs in at a mere 9g. Install as a slip-on or screw-on installation. Both methods work great with the screw-on installation providing a fixed attachment. Don't wait until yours breaks, instead brace it now.

Great! Without losing the characteristics of the HUB with easy fitting without the need to remove the PTFE tubes. Of all of them, this is the one I liked the most. Note: I added a soft lock, because during work the piece projects upwards. Nothing that gets in the way, adjusts to every impression... but I wanted to solve it. I have printed a prototype that has been definitive so far! - I opted for the screwless version.

Yes I saw that option in your design, but I opted for the one without screws. I was hesitant to use the one with screws. I didn’t know how it would affect the print head. I am brand new to 3D printing so I am learning as I go and enjoying the hobby more than I anticipated. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and designs. I appreciate your reply. the upper square part needs to move for filament tangle sensor to work.As I see this way you jam the tangle sensor, and it wont work at all.

Agreed. it is “wobbly” for a reason. it will no longer detect tangles as it needs to be able to move down should the extruded pull against tangled/jammed filament

Great, easy print! Quick tip, you can swap the screws with the scraper screws that came with the printer. Since adding the brace makes the screws too short, the scraper screws are the same size, just a little longer. Works perfectly!

It worked out very well. It's perfect, it fits perfectly, it fits snugly in its place, the size fits. At the same time, the filament connector itself has not lost its functionality, it can be pressed and returned to its original position.

I printed original but noticed top of hub came loose at one point. I added crown to hold the top and same time hold all Bowden tubes. I really like the design, easy to put on and stabilizes whole assembly. Thank you. Thumbs up!
