Scrolling Text with ESP8266 and Max7219 LED Matrix

This scrolling text display is built using two Max7219 LED matrices and programmed via WiFi using an ESP8266 controller. It can be powered by a power bank, making it portable.

The enclosure for the electronics is 3D-printed using PLA and features small interlocking parts for alignment. A thin sheet of plexiglass covers it.

The following components were used for the electronics:

The ESP8266 is programmed using the Arduino IDE. The necessary files can be found here: https://github.com/MajicDesigns/MD_Parola

The Max7219 library is located here:

The enclosure was 3D-printed in PLA using the following settings:

2 walls, 15% infill, 0.4mm nozzle. I used supports for greater precision, but I think it could be printed without them.
