RC Pinion Gear Caddy holder 48P
Print Profile(1)

Description
This pinion caddy/holder was designed to hold standard 48p pinion gears for 1/10 scale RC cars that are up to 35 teeth in size. It is designed for a standard 540 motor shaft size of 3.175mm or 1/8 inch. It will hold up to 24 pinion gears. Each container holds 12 pinions. You can select to use a single container or the double option which allows for stacking.
I have two cars that I run currently and wanted to have pinion options for both. Hate the pinions bouncing around in a plastic container and having to sort through them every time I want to make a change. I like this design as it keeps debris out of the pinions, keeps them from rubbing against each other and other stuff in the tool box. Hope it works for others as well.
Required materials outside of the filaments to print:
For the double stack option you will need an M3 bolt that is at least 40mm long and a locknut that will be bolted together on the bottom level.
If you opt for the single level then there is a lid without a hole and access tabs on the end or you can print the lid with the hole and add a bolt and locknut to secure it. For this option you will need a M3 bolt that is at least 25mm long.
For the top nut I used this thumb nut from Amazon: Link here
You could also put a pinion gear on it and tighten the set screw.
Printed in PLA with PETG as my interface for supports with a .4 nozzle. I think this would be best printed with a .2 nozzle as it does have some very minor spacing where I couldn't get the the slicing to fill in perfectly. Looking at a slice profile with a .2 nozzle this is corrected. Printed on a smooth high temp PEI plate.
I am open to comments, design and print settings feedback!!! Helps me learn and hone the skills!!
