About This Model

I am so glad you found this model! I hope you have a great time playing washer toss, and that you make many memories while playing! This game is very similar to cornhole if you have never played washer toss, so I would encourage you to try it out! See below for the build instructions and the rules for playing.

Build Instructions

  1. 3D Print 2 different colored sets of the washers, and 3D print 2 of either the stake inserts or the non-stake inserts.
  2. Cut off the lids from 2 filament boxes and gather two of the filament cylinders. (The cardboard cylinders that the filament wraps around in the spools.)
  3. If you printed the stake inserts, I would recommend poking holes in the corners of the boxes to make it easier to push the inserts in.
  4. Place the Inserts in the boxes. NOTICE: The inserts have two different sides. Please note this as you place them in the box.
  5. Place the cardboard cylinders in the position it goes in. NOTICE: The cardboard spools may vary in size, so you may have to glue or tape the spools down to the cardboard box if it is too loose in the area it goes.

How to Play

  1. Setting Up the Game
  • Arrange the Targets: Place the two washer boxes or targets 20 feet apart.
  • Player Positions:
    • Two players: Players stand at opposite boxes.
    • Four players: Teammates stand at opposite boxes, with each team member facing their partner across the playing area.

       2. Playing the Game

  • Determine Who Goes First: Players can toss one washer each toward the opposite target. The player whose washer lands closest goes first.
  • Taking Turns: Players alternate tossing all four of their washers toward the opposite target.
  • Throwing Rules: Players must not step over the front edge of the box when tossing their washers.
  • Round Over: Once all players have thrown all their washers, the round is over.

       3. Scoring

  • Scoring Points:
    • 3 points: A washer lands inside the cardboard cylinder.
    • 1 point: A washer lands inside the box, but is outside cardboard cylinder.
    • 0 points: A washer lands outside the box.
  • I would recommend cancellation scoring. (The player/team to score the most points in a round has the opposing team's points subtracted from theirs. If players/teams tie, then there is a wash where no one gets any points.)
  • Winning the Game: The first player or team to score 21 points wins. Or, you can choose to have to get exactly 21 points.
