Fortifications project 1880 Strasbourg, 3D modeling of the remaining Prussian bastions of 1880 using IGN HD Lidar data.
Here is a very well-preserved ensemble west of Strasbourg train station.
After the conquest of Alsace and Moselle, the Prussian army undertook the construction of fortifications around the city and several forts about ten kilometers away.
These fortifications have been largely destroyed, however some vestiges remain.
