Alright, fossil hunters—this one took to the skies. We’ve dug up plenty of creatures from the dirt, but this time, we’re bringing you a fossil that ruled the air. Introducing the Pteranodon Skull Fossil, a rare find from our latest Boys Day expedition.

The Story:

If you’re new here, I’ve been 3D printing fossils for my four-year-old to dig up in the woods, and let’s just say, it’s become a full-blown obsession. We’ve uncovered sabertooth skulls, owls, even a dragon. But today’s discovery changes the game—proof that the skies were once filled with massive, sharp-beaked predators. Some call it a Pteranodon. My kid calls it a Sky King. Either way, it’s going on the shelf.

Yes Yes… I know that Pteranodons didn't have teeth, but my design partner is a 4 year old boy… and he gets quite passionate if his dinosaurs don't have teeth.

The Print:

🔹 A real flight risk. The long beak and crest make it tricky to print, but I dialed it in. Prints clean as-is, but if your first layer is sketchy, a glue stick on the bed won’t hurt.

🔹 Print options:
✅ Big and Beautiful – Big, detailed, and worthy of display. (Printed in Bambu Matte PLA in Desert Tan.)
✅ Small and Quick – A smaller version for those who just want to get printing. (Same Filament as Above)

More Fossils?

This is #9 in the Boys Day Fossil Hunt Series, and we’re just getting started. (CLICK HERE to see the rest!)

Got a request for the next discovery?

Drop a comment—prehistoric or mythical, we’re digging it up.

Print it. Display it. And if anyone asks, just tell them you found it on an expedition.
