Description

I wanted to replace my NAS with a custom unraid server. But i couldn't find a computer case, that meets my requirements and fits in my server cabinet. So I designed and built my own modular case.

  • Modules (combine like you want) 
    • CPU module for Mini ITX mother board und ATX power supply
      • Mother board slides in on an extra mount
    • SSD module for 10x 2,5" solid state disks
    • HDD module for 6x 3,5" hard disks
    • Fan module for 200mm PC case fan
    • Damping feet for vibration reduction
    • Custom SSD tray
    • Custom HDD tray optimized for vibration reduction
    • Dummy SSD and HDD for empty slots to preserve optimal air flow and hold free sata connectors
  • Strength
    • Added wall loops and shell layers
    • Modules mounted together with heavy duty dovetails
    • Optimized stiffness per design where possible
    • NOT optimized to save filament or printing time
  • Cable Management
    • All connectors on the front
      • Power supply and motherboard IO panel connectors front facing
      • SATA cables connected from front side (like a network patch panel)
    • Ribs with mounts for cable ties nearly everywhere inside the modules
  • Air flow
    • Big 200mm fan for drive and case cooling
    • Air flow concept optimized for the vents in my cabinet
      • Takes in air from the sides
      • Blows out on front and top
  • Assembly 
    • Dovetail to hold modules together
    • Screwed together using M4 screws and heat inserts
    • Back covers fixed with M3 screws and heat inserts
    • TPU feet fixed with M4 screws and heat inserts
