Description

This is a scribing tool. You can place a pencil through the hole and then scribe at 1/8" increments between 1/4 -1 inches. Great for carpentry, cabinet installing, construction, and general woodworking. I have included two print profiles: PLA and PETG. I measured a bunch of different pencils I had laying around and chose a hole size that worked the best. It's a nice snug fit for my pencils, but since not all pencils are the same, you may need to try different ones or reem out the hole if necessary.

I did not come up with this design. I have seen similar products for sale on Temu and Amazon I believe.

Worked perfectly. I needed something to allow my to trace the contour of a the drywall (caused by some bowing studs) onto the custom cabinet I was installing in the corner. This allowed me to fit the cabinet top exactly shape of the wall and get rid of the gaps. Worked really well!

Printed well enough. It is a little hard to see the fractions, but could also my printer setup. Still learning how all this 3D printing stuff works. Looking forward to using this one in my woodworking projects.

I wanted to print in 2 different colors to be able to see the measurements a little better. Turned out okay. I did mess with the profile for the one shown in the picture. The original print profile was great!

Other Issues:American wood pencils are 7.5-7.8mm in diameter. This print's hole is only 7mm. Out of 50+ pencils, I could not find any that would enter the hole. Also, the fractions printed on the top are very small, hard to read.

Sorry it didn’t work out for you. I’m in the USA, and this fit every pencil in my wood shop, which is why I went with that measurement.

I am not sure! different plastics definitely shrink more than others. chuck a round pencil in your drill and ream our the hole with it!
