Description

Spacer for a Roadworx Microphone Swivel arm

I bought a set of 4 microphone swivel arms for podcasting, for use with Røde PodMic and RødeCaster 2.

However after testing we found that the arm wasn't able to hold the weight of the microphones, and required a lot of tensioning on the finger screws, even though the microphones weigh much less than the specified max weight. So I made this spacer that replaces the thin plastic spacer in the joint of the arm, ensuring a tighter fit in the joint, so the Microphone boom will not move.

Shared it because I saw in the reviews that a lot of other users of the Roadworx Swivel Arm have the same issue.

I printed new spacers in PLA, which works just fine for now. If it is to be used intensively, I'd recommend a stronger filament like PETG. Be aware though that this is a friction joint, so if the material is too stiff it might not work as desired.
