Boost Me (for free)
This is my first upload. I made more designs for my wife that I'd also be interested in uploading. Boosting would encourage me to take the time to perfect the models and get them online.
I designed this cloche for my wife, who wanted a decorative way to serve small snacks to guests. Unlike typical serving bowls that need to be put away, this cloche is designed as a decorative piece that can stay on the table to add aesthetic to your home. After multiple friends asked me to make more of these cloches to gift them, I also wanted to give back to this awesome community. This model is free to download for personal use and remix; I only ask that you credit me in the description if you expand on my design.
The model in the photos is printed in Sunlu PLA Wood, Sunlu PLA Marble, and Geeetech PLA Silk Gold, but the BOM below will have the Bambu equivalents listed. You can change the colors with different woods, marbles, etc., to better match the aesthetic of your home. The uploaded files are already set up with supports, variable layer height, and any changes to the settings needed for the wood grains. If you're using Bambu filament, you only need to download and hit print. If you are using my filaments, you only need to change the filament presets, then print. Please note that the wood plate file does not show the wood grain texture until you slice the model.
This all started when I was scrolling on Maker World and found a beautiful wood patterning design by PandaN (link below). I expanded on it by redesigning the plate to reduce the overhangs, as this wood grain effect severely impacts the quality of overhangs. I then reoriented the modifier to reduce print times while making the patterning pop more. I also made slight adjustments to the print settings. Beware that the wood patterning adds a lot of print time and scaling up the size exacerbates this.
*If you plan on making any modifications to the wooden plate 3mf, I strongly encourage you to read through his description and some of the comments in his page as they explain the do's and don'ts. This whole method is definitely in a beta stage and it took some trial and error to get good results*
