Free-spinning Cord, Cable & Filament Winder

Updated! - (Feb 16, 2026) - v2 uploaded which includes several design improvements based on user feedback and 6+ months of use: 

1. Fully compatible and interchangeable parts!
2. Hubs to fit 1kg, 3kg and two 1kg filament spools!
3. Improved XL Handle and Crank!
4. Drill Adapter! This is sized to fit a 3/8" socket adapter (example) but if you don't have one, I included a model for you (needs a drill with an adjustable chuck)
   1. Some disclaimers about the drill adapter:
      1. Use it at slow speed! Going too fast will heat up the hub and fuse the parts together. Ask me how I know. 
      2. The drill adapter bit included in the model is for LIGHT DUTY ONLY. It can't be used for anything requiring any torque (i.e., tightening a bolt, removing the lug nuts from your car, using the winder as a winch to pull your car out of the ditch, etc)

Convert your empty filament spools into a handy, free-spinning, cable/cord/wire/rope/filament/whatever winder! This design has been in use for nearly a year and has gone through several improvements during that time.
