Description

The Design

Here is my version of the Reuleaux tetrahedron.

Named after Franz Reuleaux, it is inspired by the Reuleaux triangle.

Whilst not actually constant width, it creates a very good approximation which rolls really well.

The dimensions are approximately: 40mm x 40mm x 40mm

Printing

The build plate needs to be clean for good adhesion

The Parts use Variable Layer Height to ensure a good finish.

Please ensure filament is relatively dry (wet filament seems to have a poor surface finish)

Once printed let the build plate cool before trying to remove.

Nice and working model. One remark, for me it was a bit difficult to join two pieces together. So, I simply glued two pieces. Recommend to so the same if you happen to have a similar issue.

I second this, it was tough to put together. Great model with good even weight, though even with a mallet I couldn't get the two halves to sit PERFECTLY flush, you can see the light coming through in my photo. Not necessarily a fault of the model, could be a Silk PLA thing idk. I'd sand some off of the ends of the clips before putting it together if I made it again.

Not really. I don’t roll it around all the time. It’s a great conversation starter in my office, and helps with cooling of the laptop!

It was incredibly hard to put this together and I can't get this to sit flush, but it works.

You need to orient them corectly, like in the GIF. Then it snaps correctly.

I tried, but there's only one way it can go. Other reviews seem to have the same problem.

Works great, amazing model and a smart way to assemble and hide build plate texture. Few pieces don't sit 100% flush, possibly because of me playing with the variable layer height.

Prints well but the tolerances are just too tight and it doesn't fit together as well as I'd hoped

Cool print but couldn't get it all the way together despite all my force. Would recommend gluing without the pin.
