Original Post

Searching for a good way to store my Button / Cell Batteries, I came across erhapp the Parametric battery (button cell) storage box and it was perfect except for one detail, the lid was not lockable, so I went ahead and remixed it for some of the batteries that I have.

  • Added a locking notch so the lid will stay in place.
  • Added text to both the lid and the box with 2 deferent options
    • Engraved: Best when printed with color capable printer
    • Highlighted: Best when doing filament swap

The supported battery sizes are the following:

  • 12x CR2016
  • 12x CR2025
  • 12x CR2032
  • 5x CR2430
  • 50x LR41
  • 20x LR44

Note: I received multiple complains of the Lids not locking in place; but when I reprinted the models, I couldn’t duplicate the issue in my side even when trying deferent filament with the default generic profile. However, adding a 0.2mm to the width of the Lids made the Lids very hard to remove in my case. So, if you have such an issue just reprint the Lids after adjusting Only the width after disabling the uniform scale.

Great boxes! The lids fit great without any issue of being too loose. In fact, they are a tad snug and I filed one of the little lid nubs just a touch to make unlocking easier. Would you happen to have one for a CR1620?

unfortunately the lid doesn’t stay in and is baggy! the tolerances are too slack. shame as I really wanted this to work and be secure but the lid slides out so easily. I even printed it on two different machines and same issue on both

I’m sorry to hear you’re running into this issue. I’m not able to reproduce the problem on my side, even after testing with different filament and printer brands. In cases like this, it usually comes down to calibration differences. The good news is that it’s an easy fix. You only need to reprint the lid after rescaling it, just make sure to disable the uniform scale option before adjusting any of the number (Adjust only the green axis for the CR2016 when using the default profile will scale it in the right direction). As for how much to scale: in my tests, adding 0.2 mm to the width made the lid tight enough that I needed a screwdriver to open it. You’ll need to find the sweet spot for your setup. I’d recommend starting with 0.1 mm or even 0.05 mm if you only need a slight increase in tension, and go higher if necessary. Hope this helps.
