Description

I love modern design light and i love philips hue, but philips lamps are way too expensive for what they are. So i came with another original design for a pendant light, inspired by some design pendants i have seen in catalogs. The round pendant is 60cm diameter designed to hold 2m of led strip.

If you like my design a boost is really appreciated ! Thank you !

This is composed by 3 main 3d printed parts: the round support for the strip, the half transparent diffuser and the ceiling support and electronics holder. The segments can be printed on 256mm plates and lock together (i didn't use glue)

after building the round base the adhesive led strip needs to be installed, first i resoldered my new wire (take a pic of the original color order).

The electronics are a INNR 2m led light strip, compatible with HUE (it works perfectly with hue and cost around 40 euros) and a 15w 24v LED power supply, on amazon. To extend the light (since original wire was too short) i used some 5 poles wire for LED strips (sold on amazon) . I used 4 WAGO connectors to make the final wiring easy, they are really great.

i installed the diffusers, one of the prints has a larger hole to allow the cable to pass:

modifying the INNR control board to get some power cables in (for the led driver)

installing the electronics (24v driver+ INNR controller)  in the ceiling box:

Finally i used some 0.5mm steel wire to hang the lamp to the ceiling part.
