Foreword:
Every hunter who has played Monster Hunter Rise should be familiar with the weapon: Hope Katana
May every Monster Hunter enthusiast experience the thrill of a real-life Iaijutsu.
Design Concept:
I aimed for an accurate recreation of the in-game movements, with a katana and scabbard scaled for human proportions.
The resonant clang of drawing and sheathing the blade captivates me.
Therefore, the katana has a total length of 150cm, and the scabbard is 70cm.
Strength Testing and Refinement:
Each printed component underwent rigorous testing. From initial strength tests on un-engraved prototypes to subsequent detail refinement, adjustments were made to optimize scabbard compatibility, katana weight distribution, and other aspects.
To further replicate in-game details, I added a Palico pendant.
Every hole and strap meticulously recreates visible details.
Design Features:
- To achieve easy disassembly, most parts utilize snap-fits and numerous screws for secure fastening.
- Clever use of pins and leather effectively conceals screw holes and lightsaber-style buttons.
- Multiple component separation—blade, hilt, leather, and iron—allows for easy DIY customization in various colors.
- Each component features intricate individual engravings.
- The katana's center of gravity is shifted towards the grip for comfortable extended use.
- Ensures sufficient strength during wielding.
For A1 series printers, use the A1 files. P series users may experiment with more aggressive print settings (resulting in a more transparent blade).
New Addition:
Blue paint scheme for the scabbard; the first two sections are for AMS users, the latter two for pause color changes.
