Description

3D Printed Wall Shelf for filament Storage.

Organise your 3D printing workspace with this sleek, functional 3D printed wall shelf designed specifically for filament storage. The shelf features a hidden mounting system, ensuring a clean and seamless look while securely holding your spools.

To complete the shelf you will need wooden dowels that serve as filament supports. The dowels fit into integrated slots, ensuring stability while keeping your filaments neatly arranged.

Three different sizes to choose from, depending which size dowels you are using, I recommend 28mm dowels.

  • 25mm
  • 1" inch
  • 28mm

This shelf combines the 3D printing with wood, making it a stylish and practical addition to any maker’s setup. Ideal for mounting above your 3D printer, it keeps your filament within reach while maximising workspace efficiency.

Printing:

Choose your size and print brackets which needed, middle bracket with open both sides and side brackets with closed one side. Also you have to print wall mount brackets.

For example, I printed 2 side brackets, left and right and 2 middle brackets and 4 wall mounts, mounted them 60cm a part, shelf length is 1.8m and it holds 26 spools. Used 28mm wooden dowels.

I sliced print profiles already with supports and infill modifiers, but if you want to slice it by yourself, make sure you enable supports (see in picture)

and add some modifiers for these parts of the bracket (see in pictures)

Also print wall mounts with 40% infill or higher.

Mounting:

Mount the wall brackets on wall, then slide shelf brackets on wooden dowels and then slide shelf brackets on wall mount brackets, I manage to mount my shelf by myself without much struggle. Angled side down for wall brackets.
