Description

This support is designed by Joaquim Figueiredo from our team evolt.pt , to reduce the space occupied by the 3D printer without the AMS.
The idea was taken from the A1 mini back spool holder.

It's very easy and quick to install, you just need to use 4 screws left over from mounting the A1 printer, you don't need to buy anything to make it work.

NEW UPDATE INFORMATION REGARDING THE LACK OF SCEWS:

The dimensions that Bambu use for the scews are Allen M3x23mm , so you can buy a set of 4 screws  like these or if you cannot buy then buy a set of M3x25mm and cut them to length.

REV.01
Added the files V2 , with more one screw hole to make it stronger (you will need 4 screws in total ).

Procedure:

  1. Print out the model and Remove the supports and get the 4 screws left over from mounting the A1 printer.

2. Install the filament holder that comes with the printer and place it on the printed part with the following orientation.

3. Tighten the cover with 1 screw. The hole is self-tightening in the plastic, so some force is needed to secure it.

4. Now it's time to attach the part to the frame, using 2 screws, as follows. The holes are self-tightening in the plastic, requiring some force to fix.

5. If you are printing tall parts and want to use PTFE tubing, you can add PTFE tubing to suit your taste, we suggest 70 to 80 cm.

*NEW A1 Owners* I love the design. could be slightly tighter but it is great. Incorporating the hardware for shipping is fantastic, but please note these build plate holding screws for shipping have now changed. I included pictures. As a result I had to use my own spare hardware. they are bigger than the other assembly screws this model was intended for. I am unsure why Bambu changed it, because the screws matching meant more spares!

This is good. I had to print it two times because at first I didn't notice that the old version is the default :-| and the new (V2) needs to be espicitly selected. I couldn't use the screws that came with my A1 (Purchase Nov2024), the silver ones. I had to use some other screws I had lying around. Possible improvements: 1. move the screw holes to the back (it is a pain to fasten them because of the plate and the screen. I partially fixed this by fastening them way up, and then lowering everything for the tight fastening. 2. why no Bambu logo in the V2? It was very nice in V1.

perfect addon to this printer. couple of remarks would be that it should be like 1mm more wide or even 0.5mm wider. and another great change ir option would be to have screw holes from the back so in front it would look clean as possible. also moving screws to the back side will make it much easier to screw it inside due build plate.

Thank you so much! This was perfect for me since I didn't had place for the spool on top of the printer!
