I'm an ADHD husband, father of 5, QA engineer, market vendor, & self-taught designer.
Thank you for backing my family of 7 & honoring the thousands of hours I've poured into this! 🖤
DISCLAIMER: It's easy to experience a lot of ghosting with something this tall, that wobbles a lot while printing. I did. I think I printed it at 100 mm/s outer wall & 2 walls. I think slowing down & printing with 3 walls MIGHT help. It's not a big deal, for me. Most of my shots exclude the large ghosting portion or have it out of focus. But I'm WARNING you. (Take a close look at the final image, to get an idea of the ghosting.)
- (The hole for the bearing is a separate object. So if you don't want a spinning plate, you can EASILY delete it)
- This is a BIG print. You're going to need to be willing to give up ~½ KG of filament
- I recommending coating it in a couple layers of white spray paint/primer, upon completion
- I can't seem to get the plate to spin with 0 wobble, so any advive would be helpful. It spins crazy fast/well though. Mine wobbles very little, after gluing 4 pennies on each inner corner
- A non-honeycomb option has been provided, that I have also not printed
- (The gif has a slightly different plate version. I found the divits to make no difference in wobble, so I removed them)
- (If your bearings come with rubber seals, I'd remove them. And I also applied WD-40 to mine.)
I WOULD START by printing the bearing bore insert tests profile & testing them on your 608 bearing. The bearings I bought were a lie. They were not the standard 8mm hole. I had to print the insertion point of the spinning plate at ~8.24 - 8.3mm. The test profile contains 7.94, 8.04, 8.14, & 8.24mm tests. (The insertion point is a seperate object. So you may easily resize it, if you need to test another size - just be sure to print the right plate or adjust the size for the spinning plate that you print
