Description

Boost Me (for free)

If I get some boosts I'll be extruded-inarily happy.

This is a Rivet used in most cars. I needed a replacement for under the hood of my moms Honda Oddesy. This design was made by elhalpern on thingiverse. His design didnt fit so I had to tweak the sizes. To use it you have to remove the supports then insert the smaller one until it clicks once, then you will be able to push it into the spot where the replacement was needed and it will click again.

I haven't printed this in particular but I've printed some off thingiverse. What i don't get is why these people are complaining on them breaking if they're literally printing them on the face where those prongs are the WEAKEST. Like bro.

Failed 1st try, stock settings. Each one broke inserting the post into them. One was actually cracked at the base before inserting it. Bambu MATTE PLA used

Works as designed. Now my 04 Civic bumper doesn't fall off. However, I did have a few brittle prints. The printables version which this is based upon has the 3 prong base printed sideways, which is stronger. The reason why the printables version is stronger, when you print the base face down for the 3 prong piece, it just prints layers on top that need to bond together. When it is printed sideways, the layer is part of the entire prong and base.

ABS and ASA printed parts break when inserting the locking pin and printing in PLA does not make sense due to the application location

I do not know why they would be breaking so easily I printed a bunch of them in PLA and the rivets for my Honda Odyssey are still in good condition to this day and it has been half a year

Minor tweaks for strength would probably help, but after resizing the clip to 86% and printing in PETG, it works as expected for fastening my Veloster's front bumper cover
