Description

Did your stove get recalled too? This 3D-printed safety latch is the perfect solution! Unlike the bulky, safety covers Samsung mailed out, this sleek and functional latch blends seamlessly with your stove while preventing accidental activation.

Prevents accidental stove activation
Better than the official fix – No bulky, ugly covers.

Easy to install – Simply press it on for a quick and effortless setup.
Easy to use – Flip it down when cooking, up when done.
Built-in safety reminder – A red underside signals when the latch is open, reminding you to close it after use.

Great Idea - I don't know if my stove is covered by the recall, but it should be, way to easy to accidentally turn on

Thank you! It’s pretty wild how wide spread this problem is. If this one doesn’t fit your stove I hope you find one that does. I'm happy to make variants for different stoves. Let me know if you need it :)

Awesome print! I was looking for something to lock the stove knobs for a toddler running around the house. He loves turning them on bc they light up as well. I couldn't find anything for forno stoves but I was able to modify your files a bit to make it work. Thank you!

My German Shepherd turns the oven on multiple times a day with his nose touching the touch screen. Dangerous! I have to check the app multiple times a day to make sure its not on...or to turn it off when it is on 🤦 I haven't found anything to help with that yet. ill have to design something myself it seems. Nice model tho! Came across this looking for screen protection.

That’s really interesting. Do you have the same model of stove? I could print a big rectangle attached to the side of the current model, but it won’t be pretty. Is your dog using his nose on the touch screen part or the other circular knob?

Yes, same stove. I think hes just checking if anything was left behind and his nose touches various buttons on the screen. Maybe he just likes the beeps 🤷 Hes extra like that. He opens doors with knobs, slides doors open to go out back, and hits the switch to open the garage door. He used to get his own ice til he broke the ice dispenser in the last firdge which prompted us to get the new appliances. So, maybe hes trying to cook himself dinner 🤷 either way, its dangerous and he doesn't understand that part. I appreciate it, but Ill figure something out! I'm thinking of making it kind of like one of the old blackstone grill lids and have it fit right in...with two little handles and maybe even 2 color text "noseblocker" or something along thise lines 😆🤙

Can you post an image of the stove face without the knobs? I'm trying to adapt this to my LG stove and can't figure out how the rings actually mount to the stove. Is there a ring on the stove face the rings set into, is the ring mounted to the knob back side, or do you tape/glue the ring to the stove face? The design works on my stove but the fit is all wrong (ring is too large and just kind of falls down until it hits the shaft of the knob. Love this idea over the other shim style safety mechanisms since you don't have to remove/reinstall it every time you want to use it. Thank you

There is an outer ring that is fixed in place. The model just presses in around that. It sounds like your stove might not have the fixed outer ring. So you might have to get extra creative. Could you build one with an inner ring that spins with the knob and then a stationary outer ring that resembles the original model? (I know that sounds much simpler than it is to build.) Good luck!

The LG has a single small circle right around the shaft. I am printing a prototype that has a ring around the circle that is then mated to your outter ring design, ganged into 3 to fit the 3 knobs on the LG. An initial prototype worked but was a bit wobbly. The 3 gang should provide more stability. If necessary, I'll just use some double sided tape to hold things down. In any case, love your concept.

Here is an image of the stove face with the lock I place (I used 2 sided tape to keep it stable) and a 2nd with the knobs on. There is nothing to grab the rings so tape seems to be the way to go. Clearance on the knobs is tight. I did a 2nd iteration with some plastic on the green arms shaved off but still tight. I will live with it a while and see how it goes.

I’m sorry to hear that. The stove model is in the model description. Unfortunately this is not a universal fit

This design is awesome! It has happened to me on a couple of occasions, where when I returned from shopping I was placing the bags on the counter and accidentally hit the knob and turned on the element. Then not realizing I had done so, I placed the bag on the stove.......a small fire ensued. Now, I'm worry free thanks to your design! Printed easily, and assembled quickly, Thank you!

Stove knobs like this should be illegal. This design of yours is a great workaround for horrible and unsafe stove design. Thank you. Off to adapt it to my LG.
