Description

For Bonne Maman Jars ~77.5mm wide at the top (thread's minor diameter)

Uploaded for the microscopic intersection of people with an abundance of Bonne Maman jars, a 3D printer and an airbrush but no purge pot

I wanted to save on paper towels so I designed myself an airbrush purge pot lid based on the commercially available pots that fits over Bonne Maman jelly jars. The lid does not require an o-ring to be watertight (the original Bonne Maman jelly lid also lacks an o-ring). Included are Fusion + 3MF files for just the lid in case you want to modify it to do something else (I wouldn't recommend using it alone as a replacement for the original steel lid)

I recommend gluing the Filter Insert and Nozzle Insert parts to the lid with CA glue on the bottom. The friction fit is not likely sufficient for daily use.

The Cap part is separate from the Filter Insert part so that you can add a piece of cotton (cotton ball shred) or tissue to act as a rudimentary filter for any overspray between the two parts.

all the parts print well except for the nozzle part it keeps turning into spaghetti mess right at the middle of printing it each time.

after 2 failed attempts trying to print with the posted profile, i added a brim for better bed adhesion for the nozzle part and that allowed the print to pass successfully

Replying to @almoullim :
Having read this, I will either update the model to be at least 3-4 lines thicker at the tip or make printing with a brim default. Thank you! Sorry for the trouble 🙂‍↕️

I too found myself at the same intersection! Great design and it printed perfectly. I used PETG Matte. Maybe I should print a second one to use as a workshop cocktail sippy cup! Thanks for sharing this!

Great idea! Well done! I just had a small issue with PLA+ retraction: it was difficult to get the objects into the lid. To get around it quickly, I copied the 2 parts that were causing me insertion problems and scaled them down to 99% and 98%. The one scaled down to 99% solved my problem. As for gluing the parts, I no longer use glue but a filament pen. It's a fantastic tool that intelligently recycles filament scraps for a modest price
