Universal Small spool adapter for AMS

Description
My universal spool adapter design for Bambu AMS system to be able to use 250g spools. I wanted a spool adapter that had a hollow center so I could still use a desiccant tube in the middle. I also didn't want a narrower spool adapter, as the ones I tried that were narrow rubbed on the AMS head causing a squeaking noise.
I have tested the Version 3.0 adapter with Amolen, sunlu, and OVV3D, and Mika 3D mini spools so far.
I have included 2 print options, the first is 2 color like the ones I printed in the photos, and the second is a single color option.
My goal with this design is to make as universal of a spool adapter as possible, as such I am open to any and all contructive feedback or suggestions to improve and better this design.

Key features:
*Spool clips to hold a mini spool to the adapter allowing the AMS to roll filament back when changing colors. there are 2 clip options: 1 for normal width mini spool edges, and 1 for thicker width mini spools.
*center locking pin that keeps spool adapter halves from coming apart. Designed so that the locking pin can be removed with needle nose pliers.
*indents on inner spool rim for holding filament end when not in use, eliminating the need for a filament clip.

***Update 06/03/2025: After some valuable feedback, and much testing and editing of my design I am proud to upload version 3.0 of my spool adapter. I am leaving the Version 1.0 print file up as it was the first design I ever made and it does still work for 250 gram spools with a 52mm+ center diameter hole (amolen, OVV3D,Sunlu). If you are seeing this post after the update date, please download and print the version 3.0.
Version 3.0 maintains all the features of version 1.0 with some notable upgrades:
*smaller center diameter of 48mm to accommodate more types of mini spools.
*wider center walls for the center tube, to strenghten locking mehanism as well as more overlap in the 2 halves and moving hole for locking pin farther from edge to prevent breakage. I also re-made the center pin to fit in the new V3.0 center.


*New universal spool clip that is longer and should work with any width mini spool edge.
*Longer cutout for clip, as well as longer indent slot for clip to hold more heights of spools.

* A Spool spacer that is optional for mini spools that have a wider center diameter. I found through some testing, that the smaller diameter of my V3.0 spool can cause mini spools with a wider center hole diameter to move around and sometimes knock the clips off the adapter. the center spacer will prevent this.

Please note: the only supports needed to print this are the ones “painted” on the file already. They support the clip indent on the spool and the top edge of the locking pin cutout. **For version 3.0 the lip on the inner spool half also has supports painted on. Please make sure you have supports enabled and set to “manual”


If you want to print this on a smooth plate like I did please adjust the settings as follows: (this should already be pre-loaded into the version 3.0 print profile)

**Be aware that the smaller pieces, the clips and locking pin, will require a brim if printing on a smooth plate. the pieces that need brims should have them enabled in the V 3.0 print profile already.
If you want to have the top surfaces be smooth please enable “ironing” under the Quality section. (These are pre-loaded in the version 3.0 print profile also) These are the flow rate settings I have found to be ideal:
