STARSHIP HEAT SHIELD TILE

Here is a half-scale replica of the SpaceX Starship ceramic heat shield tile. This is a composite of thermochromatic PLA over ABS. Color change starts around 30C / 86F and the gradient runs from dark gray through red to yellow/lime. Place a hot drink on the tile to simulate heating from atmospheric entry.

Recommended to print in two separate prints, with the inner part of the tile printed in ABS/ABS+ or an equivalent heat-tolerant filament. The outer tile print was designed and intended to be printed specifically in the EL3D® PLA, Tri Color Change, Lava 1Kg filament, to enable the color-changing ability of the coaster.
