The Peace Ark hospital ship is a large, specialized hospital ship custom-built by China for maritime medical rescue. Named Peace Ark, with hull number 866, it was manufactured by Guangzhou Shipyard International and is stationed at a military port in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province.

Unlike American medical ships, which are typically converted oil tankers, the Peace Ark is a purpose-built medical vessel, making it the world's first ultra-large, specialized hospital ship exceeding ten thousand tons.

Some of the medical equipment aboard the Peace Ark hospital ship rivals that of top-tier tertiary hospitals.

It was officially commissioned into the East Sea Fleet in late 2008 and made its public debut in 2009 during the 60th anniversary celebration of the Navy and a multinational naval exercise.
