Description

Welcome back guys!

I loved experimenting with tin whistles in the last weeks and i always wanted to create a compact tin whistle, since straight ones are not printable on every printer and not easy to transport, this one is compact and should break easily.

The tuning was quite difficult, since it appears that a curved pipe cant just be calculated as a straight pipe. I originally wanted this flute in the key of C but ended up with the key of B!

I think it is well playable! Keep in mind that due to the shake, normal win Whistle FIngering is not possible, because one hand has to play the notes from top, not from the buttom. But I realized, that one quickly adapt ones playing to it.

I mirrored the file so you can either have your right or your left and fingering as normal.

Theses models take a lot of time to make, I am thankful on every feedback, comment or boost :)

If you like this model, consider boosting it to help me out with filament :)

Printing:

Use tree supports for the mouth piece, it es essential that it is printed clean to create a proper sound.

You need to activate Arachne wall mode, otherwise the sharp edge (labulum) won’t be sharp enough.

Make sure to remove every single bit of remaining filament, the mouth piece and pipe have to be clean to create propper sound!

Print profile:

Please stick to these setting:

  • 0.2mm layer height or lower
  • very important: arachne wall mode (otherwise the labulum will be to thick)
  • tree support is only needed for the mouth piece. Make sure to also chek small overhangs
