Description
Retaining Clip for the battery and electronics compartment for a homemade electric skateboard.
The clips have stood the test of time. I printed them in Prusament PLA. Just don't leave the skateboard in the car in summer, the PLA will deform.
I use M3 screws and locknuts. I drilled into the board and inserted M3 screw nuts (DIN 7965). Be careful those break easily, its best to insert them with a nut on a screw.
To allow for easy swivel action I added two small washers between the board and the base. The base screw must be secured with loctite, otherwise it will rattle loose and you will lose the part.
The springs are standard 3d printer bed springs, specs below.
The battery case itself is a flower box coaster:
