Description

Summary

It is a DIY rotary module compatible with Snapmaker 2.0.
The module has the full functionality of the original rotary module, same speed, is correctly recognized by the Snapmaker 2.0 controller, etc.
However, I used a larger size chuck 3 jaw and a more powerful stepper motor.
The total weight (with a tailstock) is 2.17 kg - less than the original rotary module (2.4 kg).
The total cost of all components was less than 140 €.

To make a tailstock I also used these two M8 knobs :

Detailed information about the mechanical and electronic components that I used in this project can be found in the following video and its description.

Edit:
I used G-code generated from CAM Fusion 360 to mill the base plate.
Probably for many people it will be easier to use a simple drilling template.
At the request of several users, I added a dedicated DXF vector file.
