Description

Description

Fire is a classic Game & Watch game that was initially released on July 31, 1980, as part of the Silver series and later as part of the Wide Screen series on December 4, 1981. In the game, players control two characters holding a rescue net to bounce people jumping out of a burning building towards an ambulance. The game was one of the best-selling in the Game & Watch series, selling an estimated 1,000,000 copies worldwide, with an additional 200,000 units sold in the Wide Screen version.

In this model, all LCD segments are highlighted; the frame can be hanged and has rounded corners and inner edges, inspired by the original casing/frame.

This model is low difficulty and quick to print overall; it is a rather short print, too. The frame is plain and it has a tight fit, so mind the tolerances (or sand a little when needed).

The scene (screen) is 15x10cm, as the G&W screens are basically widescreen (later models more so). The frame is 17x12cm.

Layer Map - 1 AMS

  • It could be printed without AMS with a manual filament change after completing the LCD background, but I include the AMS profile as it is the one I printed and tested.
  • You can use glue to make the pieces more secure (print+frame), but is not required based on my testing.
  • Includes a single plate with an original screenshot and an optional frame to hang it.

Colors used

  • Black - Bambu PLA Basic Black (could also be Matte Black)
  • Grey - Bambu PLA Basic Light Grey. The original LCD is more greenish/blueish tinted, but I guess it's not a common color to have available anywhere (I've not been able to find an exact match). Light grey looks neat, though.
  • Blue (Frame) - Bambu PLA Matte Marine Blue; the actual fit to the machine would probably be in a slightly darker range, but I didn't have it available.
