While crafting a shelving unit from fir panels, employing plywood connectors for my magazine collection, I realised that the way these connectors function would leave a gap of approximately one centimetre at each panel joint, at the beginning and end of each shelf.

 

While this typically poses no issue for books, significantly thicker than the centimetre in question, it would present a problem for thinner books or magazines (as in my case), as the magazines at the beginning and end of each shelf would lack support.

 

I therefore devised this simple support, slender enough to be unobtrusive yet robust enough to adequately support magazines at the beginning and end of the collection.
