Description

Print the same way the original was.

I modified this to fit humbuckers (non-covered, only the open bobbins will fit and barely).  No more screw holes, deepened the electronics cavity.  Narrowed and tapered the neck pocket and got rid of the extra hole (although it's possible the extra hole added perimeters which would add strength).  Made the design take parts from Guitar Fetish.

I bought my kit from this URL

https://www.guitarfetish.com/UPGRADE-Tele-Humbucker-COMPLETE-Hardware-kit-with-Kwikplug-Pickups-White-Guard_p_45457.html

It comes with everything you need but the neck.

This design is string through, but you don't have to use it, the guitar fetish parts are top load or string through.

I used a 22 fret tele neck.  I would recommend the 21 fret.  The 22 overhangs and I had to put the neck on my milling machine to thin out the overhang because it didn't fit with the pickguard.  My design is set for a USA spec tele neck any should work.

I bought a neck from these guys, get a TE style.  So the neck pocket is flat.

It's ok, fretwork was not up to my standards.  They were down but the ends weren't as rounded as I would like so I spent a few hours taking the edges down.  I'm really picky about fret ends.  But a small fret file and some elbow grease and they are nice.

The tuners that came with the kit are fine.  They feel ok and do the job, but I LOVE locking tuners.  So I bought a set of these

They are staggered too.  If you get the same USA spec, you will want the vintage 8.5mm.  They also offer 10mm ones.  Just make sure you match the holes in the neck with the tuners you want use.

I added strap button holes, which I made 3mm diameter and tapped in 4mm screws (14mm long flat head to fit the guitar fetish parts).

I'm sharing the plain pickguard, but made it with my band's name on mine in the pics.  I modified the g-code to do color changes mid layer to get the mmu effect without owning one.

Added the step files for the body if you need to modify it for your own kit or bridge.

Because I can't leave well enough alone, V2 parts.

I modified the knob holder to have hex cutouts that are bigger and more holes.  Yeah, not a big deal, but I wanted more hexes.

The middle part is very different.  My plan is to make a bass and I think it will need reinforcement.  I think this model could use some.  I printed mine with standard PLA and I think it's a bit too flexible for my tastes.  So I'm printing the middle part V2 with 8 perimeters and 30% cubic infill with PLA+ and I routed it for putting one of these in it

You will need to cut that to 25cm in length and epoxy that into the hole.  Then insert the plug and glue that.  The string ferrules should hold it too.  I'm not sure I'd print the middle part V2 without using the carbon rod.  You could, but I wouldn't.
