Description

This is a 1:1 M18A1 Claymore Munition (Mine) replica toy. I think it's a good time to share with others during the contest.

The printed item in the picture is the very first draft I left in the garage—every other copy has been gifted to my kid’s friends. The blobs on the surface as shown in the picture, is because I choose random seam position.

About several months ago, at the playground, my son saw older kids playing with a Nerf version of the M18A1 Claymore Mine, complete with a blasting feature (crazy toy). While it was fun to watch, the blast frightened him, so I decided to create a static version for him instead. Please note—this is strictly a toy and is not intended for any real-life use, especially in light of the current tensions in Europe. Originally, I designed the model with functional legs, but for safety and to prevent easy modifications, I ultimately removed the moving mechanism. If you prefer, you can choose to reattach the legs yourself with some light activated epoxy glue.

I used Support for PLA/PETG filament that came with the printer, works great. If you don't have it, please modify the print profile.

Assembly Tips:

If you want to attach the legs to the body, I recommend using a UV light-activated glue, such as J-B Weld SuperWeld Light Activated Instant Glue.

Special thanks to my Vietnam War vet neighbor for his input. He felt the design looked a bit too menacing and suggested tweaking it so it still feels real without coming off as threatening. He also helped correct the term from “mine” to “munition".
