Broom fix screw Tube End Threads Repair Male Male
Print Profile(1)

Description
[ Read the following instructions before ]
This model is an insert for a broom hollow tube stick, so this is a Male-Male end, it will not work with a wood stick.
Unlike most other models out there, my model is designed to print flat (horizontally) for better linear strength. Even I do think this is way stronger than a vertical print prone to layer adhesion failure, 3D printed parts have limitations and this is not a guarantee this replacement threads will not break because broom sticks threads endure quite some stress.

[ Threads ] Threads type is the common North American Broom stick 3/4" thread being : ACME 0.75in x 5 TPI (rounded a little bit to help the 3D print).
[ Male tube insert ] The other end (with no threads to insert in your tube) is designed with a taper, to accommodate for some tube play diameter. Check the photos for the dimensions to ensure this will fit your tube.
[ Printing ] No supports required, but the slicer may give you a warning for the "overhangs" if you disable the supports. In my print profile, I set the angle to a steep value disabling the supports generation. My parts did print perfectly okay with no supports, bridges are only between the threads.
(New File V2: March 06 - 2025) : I updated the print profile to add mode walls (total 16walls) to improve stress resistance around the threads because mine broke under very heavy broom lateral force. The new print profile will use a couple more grams of plastic, but I think it is worth it.
[ Assembly ] Push in the tube end and smack it snug with a rubber mallet. If you need to add a screw, you should "pre drill" the tube and plastic to help the screw.
