Description
When I purchased my HB World Spec, I was surprised to find that they only designed their battery holder to fit tall 4s packs. When I reached out to them to see if they sold different blocks to bring the battery strap down I was told “Use a piece of foam to secure the shorter packs." If you race 1/8 eBuggy or eTruggy you know this isn't going to stay in place. Plus they bolted their battery brace in, which makes it harder on racers to replace the battery in a bump up situation.
My design not only allows the use shorter in height 4s packs, but the taller ones as well. It also uses hook & loop to secure the pack and makes it easier to swap when you are in a bump up position or if you don't want to mess with nuts. It only raises the battery .062" off the chassis. Compared to a tall pack or the foam idea, .062" isn't much and it doesn't change the handling characteristics of the vehicle it is installed in.
I designed it so you can purchase and install brass threaded inserts in the rear and the velcro runs in a channel to protect it against rubbing on the battery.
