Description
3D-Printed Egyptian Usekh Collar – A Customizable Statement Piece
This 3D-printed usekh collar is inspired by ancient Egyptian broad collars, designed to bring a touch of history to modern creations. Originally made for a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, this piece isn't an exact replica of ancient Egyptian collars but captures their vibrant, ornate style with a modern 3D-printed twist.
The collar consists of 7 sections, each of which can hold up to 4 slots, and each slot can feature one of 3 different shapes, allowing for a vast number of design combinations. Whether you prefer a uniform pattern or a chaotic mosaic of colors and textures, this collar offers nearly endless customization possibilities.
Assembly & Sizing
- For best results, use a low-viscosity glue to assemble the pieces securely.
- There are small dots on the edge for jump rings, you will need to drill the holes manually after printing
- The default size is suitable for most, but if making it for smaller individuals, reduce the scale to 85% for a more comfortable fit.
Historical Background
The usekh collar (sometimes called a wesekh) was a staple of ancient Egyptian fashion, worn by both royalty and deities in art and artifacts. Typically made of gold, beads, and faience, these collars symbolized status, divine protection, and power. This 3D-printed version brings a modern twist to the traditional design while allowing for customizable colors and patterns that honor the spirit of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship.
Whether for theater, cosplay, or historical appreciation, this usekh collar is a striking accessory that blends ancient aesthetics with modern techniques.
(Also you will need jump rings to connect the sections, a chain to go around the neck, and a clasp)
