Description

As a cosplaying Ghostbuster, I was surprised that there were no really good, or accuate Ghostbusters Ecto Goggles on the MakerWorld site that had been properly sliced with a Bambu Profile.

This is my adaptation of The Goon's very popular, easy to build Ecto Goggles from Thingiverse - I take no credit in creating this model at all.
As per the original the original licence terms -  This is NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes .

I've tried 5 different prototypes of this print so far, and this profile is the one that:

  • Prints Quickly
  • Has a good quality level with minimal post-print clean up. You can happily print directly in the Olive Drab and black colours and troop them as a cosplay prop.
  • Has the best supports for the end result
(The supports under the goggle frame are quite over the top, but seeing as the scarring remains on the inside of the prop, I feel this is best. The supports remove very easily, so it isn't a problem.
I tried printing the goggle facing down, and while it minimalised the amount of support material required, the scarring on the front face of the goggle shell made it more trouble than I'd have liked)

Things to note:
I've added Knurled knobs, and Socket Cap screws on plate two, these are optional.
This is just in case you don't want to buy the genuine metal ones - you can glue these in place on the goggle lenses and the lens plate (My photos of the print show the plastic knurled adjustment knobs AND the plastic socket cap screws).

And to finish the prop, you'll need:

  • Metal Snap Buttons to rivet onto the Goggle shell
  • A Suitable Strap
  • Padded Cushioning for inside the curve where you face presses against the goggles.
  • Stickers/Decals

Enjoy!
If you have any problems, leave me a comment and I'll see if I can fix them for you.
