Description

Summary

The Elefont Ring is an ergonomic accessibility tool designed for enhanced grip stability. It is a functional design concept created to explore new ways of interacting with writing tools. This latest iteration features a flexible, adaptive design that conforms to various finger/toe sizes and pen/pencil diameters.

The grip holes measure 7.48mm, making them ideal for standard writing tools like HB2 pencils and Bic pens. While the TPU material allows for flexibility, expanding up to 9.50mm, using significantly larger tools may overextend the material. The multi-hole structure allows for customizable grip positions, which may help improve comfort during extended use.

Thanks to its TPU construction, the adult version accommodates finger and toe diameters of 18mm and larger. For smaller sizes, an included adapter ensures a secure fit while maintaining flexibility. A dedicated version is also included for smaller diameters (12mm), which can expand slightly as needed.

The adult version includes an additional adapter to reduce the internal diameter to 14mm while remaining flexible.

Currently, this is the 26th iteration of this design concept, crafted from Overture High-Speed TPU 95A. This project is an ongoing R&D exploration, and I am eager to hear feedback from the maker community to help refine the design further.

Usage and Licensing These designs are shared for personal, non-commercial research and evaluative purposes only and should not be sold. If you modify the model, please credit the original work.

Why the name Elefont Ring?

The four stumps resemble elephant feet, and when you insert a finger or toe through the hole, it looks like an elephant’s trunk.

Let me know what you think—I’d love your input to keep improving this design!
