Eight years ago, for my son's birthday, I crafted a simple balancing toy using disposable chopsticks and two AA batteries. The radiant joy in his eyes upon receiving it filled me with immense satisfaction. However, I felt the toy lacked a distinctive design. Thus, I embarked on a creative endeavor, meticulously constructing two figures holding hands and gracefully dancing, forming a completely new balancing toy. This version captivated my son; he cherished it constantly.

Last year, I acquired a Bambu Lab P1SC 3D printer, and since then, I've longed to perfectly replicate this cherished toy brimming with memories. Finally, during the Lunar New Year holiday, I found ample time. I began by sketching the design based on the chopstick version, then used PS software to refine and adjust the poses, resulting in the first model, "Dancing on the Ground." Yet, viewing the model, I felt the dance postures lacked dynamism and grace, prompting further extensive modifications, culminating in the final version—the "Mid-Air Dance" model.

Next came the intense modeling process. I used curves to shape the figures, carefully designing the balance structure, and conducted countless tests. Each adjustment aimed to precisely position the toy's center of gravity directly below the fulcrum, ensuring the smoothest, most elegant horizontal spinning dance. A few days ago, for my son's birthday, I gifted him this 3D-printed replica; he was overjoyed!

 

Now, I've decided to open-source this model, sincerely hoping it brings joy to children worldwide. Of course, it also makes a fantastic desk fidget, offering a moment of relaxation and delight amidst a busy life.

Requires only two AA batteries for weighting—don't throw away your old batteries; they can still be used!
